Rachael Kerns-Wetherington is a licensed psychologist in independent practice in Pennsylvania & New Jersey.  With a background in social work and ministry, her work focuses on issues of power and privilege, as well as caregiver care to help prevent burn out for those working towards a more just world.  She holds a BS in psychology and biblical studies from North Central University, an MA in Clinical Psychology from George Fox University, and a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from George Fox University.  In addition to her primary private practice through Circle Counseling in Philadelphia, she is adjunct faculty at Eastern University.  Dr. Kerns-Wetherington has been an active member of CAPS since her graduate school training.  She currently serves as the Co-chair on the board of directors, is a board member for CAPS East regional chapter, and is the CAPS International 2018 assistant conference coordinator.  She has a particular passion for creating space and opportunity within CAPS for early career professionals and minority voices. Beyond her professional work, she is deeply engaged in social justice issues impacting her inner-city neighborhood.  These include healthy food access, green space initiatives, combating gentrification with intentional living communities, wealth redistribution, and public policy and political action on the local and national level.  Additionally, she and her husband are raising their strong-willed daughter within their beloved Circle of Hope church community, which helps them live out the conviction of being more like Jesus.
