Vision

It is the vision of the Association of Counselors, Counselor Educators, Supervisors, and Students to:

  • Create an environment for collegial support and dialogue to occur and be facilitated among counseling professionals and students who sincerely seek to integrate principles of the historic Christian faith with principles and models of contemporary counseling practice, education, and supervision;
  • Provide high quality continuing education experiences to licensed counseling professionals that meet the standards of and are recognized by certification bodies (e.g., NBCC) and state licensure boards;

  • Inspire the professional, emotional, relational, and spiritual well-being of its members;
  • Promote excellence in clinical practice and scholarship.

Value of Joining ACCESS

Any CAPS member with a counselor identity is encouraged to add an ACCESS membership for an additional $50 fee ($25/students) when you renew your CAPS membership. This fee will go directly to:

  • Securing NBCC approval for “Counseling Track” workshops at the annual CAPS conference
  • Provide for an ACCESS reception at the conference
  • Professional connections throughout the year

Our leadership team is an elected group of CAPS members who have a counselor identity. All ACCESS members are encouraged to get involved and serve our group through leadership as position vacancies occur (some positions are a 1-year term, others are 2-year). Additionally, an ACCESS member can serve as a CAPS board representative to advocate for the interests of counselors within the larger organization.
