FAQ’s
Why is CAPS going virtual again?
We hoped to meet in person in 2022, but we were concerned about the health of our members and the financial impact of a live conference, both for our attendees and CAPS. Philippians 2:3-4 reminds us to be humble in decision making and to put the interests of others ahead of ourselves. At the time of our decision, the Delta variant was surging and hospitals across the nation were becoming flooded with severe cases. Further, we know that the pandemic has had a negative financial impact on organizations and individuals, and going virtual one more year allows us to keep costs much lower for our attendees. So, as much as we wanted gather everyone together again, we reluctantly made the decision to go virtual one more year – hoping this will be the final time we need to do so.
If I want to present, how does that work in a virtual conference?
It’s really just a few easy steps:
- Go to our submission portal and enter the info related to the seminar or poster you’d like to present by Nov 19, 2021. All seminars will be either 30 minutes or one hour in length.
- Those that are accepted for the program will be notified by Jan 15, 2021.
- Once accepted, presenters will be given additional instructions on how to record and upload their sessions or poster presentations.
How does this whole virtual thing work?
The live portion of the conference will be on two days, Friday, March 18-Saturday, March 19. During these two days the plenary sessions are live, the chatrooms are open, and the special interest groups meet virtually. This helps both those in practice and academic settings by only having one workday impacted by the conference (vs two days plus travel).
However, all the conference content is uploaded to Whova (our conference platform) and you’ll be able to access all the conference content for several months after the conference. So, you can watch and listen to as many of the leading voices in the integration movement on your schedule as you wish!
Can we collect CE credits after the 2 day conference like last year?
Yes, you will again have time after the conference to earn as many CE’s as you wish.
Are you having pre or post conference programs this year?
The short answer is no. While we realize the pre and post conference programs allow participants to take a deeper dive into subjects than one hour sessions afford, trying to make these available with live chats across three time zones adds a level of complexity that seemed excessive.
